My educational background is in business. I attended the University of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas while my husband was in the USAF. We moved back to Colorado in 2001 after my husband retired from the Air Force. After moving here I enrolled in Colorado's Early Childhood Education program. I have also attended various Montessori workshops in Boulder, Colorado.
I have over 4 years experience working with children. I started out volunteering in my children's preschool and elementary classrooms. I also taught religious education at Our Lady of Visitation in Elizabeth, Colorado. I loved the experience and rewards so much that I volunteered at my son's preschool, eventually became a teacher's assistant and then a teacher three years later.
My husband Mark along with my daughter, Ariana, and son, Derek make up my busy family. My husband works numerous hours at United Airlines and my children keep me going because of all their extracurricular activities after school and on weekends.
My hobbies include reading, landscaping, music and camping with my family in Colorado's beautiful mountain locations.
Something significant about me is I learned to play the Alto Saxophone in Junior High and have since continued to practice and enjoy playing. My husband plays the trumpet and guitar. My 83 year old dad and I get together sometimes and play old standards. We also enjoy big band, jazz and easy listening music. We love to attend the jazz concerts in our mountain communities.
The quote that has inspired me the most is from the bible,"You reap what you sow." This quote is always in the back of my mind for relationships, life's works and when I look into the eyes of children.
The one person who has been most inspirational to me is my husband Mark. We support and assist each other in all of our endeavors. We are a partnership and this teamwork has gotten us to where we are today. We will celebrate our 30th Anniversary next year.
